Article Processing Charges and Author Fees Policy

The International Journal of Mathematics and Sciences Education (IJMSEd) is an open-access journal. To support the costs associated with editorial management, publication, digital infrastructure, and the long-term operation of the journal, IJMSEd applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to articles accepted for publication.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Authors whose manuscripts have been accepted for publication are required to pay an Article Processing Charge of:

IDR 500,000 per accepted article

The APC is charged only after a manuscript has successfully completed the editorial and peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.

No Submission Fee

IJMSEd does not charge a manuscript submission fee.

Authors may submit manuscripts to the journal without payment. No payment is required for initial editorial screening or for a manuscript to enter the peer-review process.

No Peer Review Fee

IJMSEd does not charge authors for peer review.

Manuscripts are evaluated according to the journal's editorial standards and double-blind peer-review process, normally involving at least two independent reviewers.

When the APC Is Charged

The APC becomes applicable only after the manuscript has received a formal acceptance decision from the journal.

Payment of the APC is not a condition for:

  • manuscript submission;
  • initial editorial screening;
  • reviewer selection;
  • peer review;
  • revision; or
  • the editorial decision to accept or reject a manuscript.

Authors are not required to make an APC payment for manuscripts that are rejected.

What the APC Supports

The APC contributes to the operational and publication costs of IJMSEd, including:

  • journal and editorial management;
  • online submission and editorial infrastructure;
  • manuscript processing;
  • publication preparation;
  • online hosting and maintenance;
  • metadata management and dissemination;
  • digital publication; and
  • immediate open-access availability of published articles.

Payment of the APC does not transfer copyright from the authors to the journal or publisher.

Editorial Independence

The payment or ability to pay the APC has no influence on editorial decisions.

All manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance to the aims and scope of IJMSEd, research integrity, ethical compliance, and the outcomes of peer review.

Payment does not guarantee acceptance or provide preferential treatment during the editorial or peer-review process.

Editors and reviewers involved in assessing a manuscript are expected to make their recommendations and decisions independently of financial considerations.

Open Access

Articles accepted and published by IJMSEd are made freely and immediately available to readers in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy.

Published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

The APC does not restrict readers' open access to published articles.

Additional Charges

Apart from the stated IDR 500,000 APC, IJMSEd does not impose additional mandatory charges for the standard publication process.

Other Mandatory Publication Charges: IDR 0

Authors will be informed clearly if any optional service outside the standard publication process involves a separate cost.

Waivers and Exemptions

Any waiver, discount, or exemption from the APC, where available, is considered independently from the editorial and peer-review process.

Requests for a waiver or reduction do not influence the editorial evaluation or acceptance decision.

Information regarding eligibility and procedures for APC waivers or reductions, if offered by IJMSEd, will be communicated transparently by the journal.

Changes to Article Processing Charges

IJMSEd reserves the right to revise the APC when necessary to support sustainable journal operations.

Any change in the APC will be clearly published on the journal website. The applicable APC will normally be the fee stated by the journal for the relevant submission/publication arrangement communicated to the author.

No undisclosed mandatory fee will be imposed during the publication process.
