Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in publishing articles in The International Journal of Mathematics and Sciences Education, including authors, editors, peer-reviewers, and the publisher, Nashir Al-Kutub Indonesia.
A. Publication and Authorship
1. Peer Review Process
- All submissions undergo a strict, blind peer review by at least two international experts in the relevant field.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript’s relevance, soundness, originality, significance, readability, and language quality.
-Decisions include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
- Resubmissions following revisions are not guaranteed acceptance.
- Rejected papers will not be reconsidered.
- Acceptance is subject to compliance with legal standards on libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
2. Publication Integrity
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- No research may be published in more than one journal or as a duplicate submission.
B. Authors' Responsibilities
1. Originality and Authenticity
- Authors must ensure their work is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been previously published.
- Data presented must be accurate and reliable. Authors are required to retain and share raw data upon editorial request.
2. Publication Exclusivity
The manuscript must not be under review elsewhere. All co-authors must consent to its submission to this journal.
3. Contributions and Authorship
All authors must have significantly contributed to the research. Any form of ghostwriting or guest authorship is prohibited.
4. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or otherwise.
5. Post-Publication Responsibilities
If significant errors are discovered in a published work, authors must promptly notify the journal to issue corrections or retractions as necessary.
C. Reviewers' Responsibilities
1. Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential. Reviewers are prohibited from sharing or discussing their contents with others.
2. Objectivity and Constructiveness
- Reviews should be impartial, avoiding personal criticisms of the authors.
- Feedback should be constructive and supported by clear arguments.
3. Ethical Oversight
Reviewers must inform the editor of any potential ethical violations, such as plagiarism or previously published works.
4. Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts if they have any conflicts of interest with the authors, institutions, or companies associated with the submission.
D. Editors' Responsibilities
1. Decision-Making Authority
Editors have full authority to accept or reject a manuscript based on its academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
2. Impartiality and Integrity
- Editors should base decisions on the paper’s quality and not the authors’ backgrounds or affiliations.
- They must ensure the publication’s academic integrity and respond swiftly to ethical concerns.
3. Confidentiality and Anonymity
Editors must maintain reviewer confidentiality and protect the identities of all involved parties during the review process.
4. Addressing Misconduct
Editors are responsible for investigating and addressing suspected ethical violations. This includes issuing retractions or corrections when necessary.
5. Ethical Compliance
All published material must adhere to ethical standards, particularly for studies involving human or animal subjects.
E. Publisher’s Responsibilities
1. Ethical Oversight
Nashir Al-Kutub Indonesia ensures that the publication process is conducted ethically and with full transparency. Editorial decisions are independent of commercial interests.
2. Archiving and Accessibility
The publisher is responsible for ensuring long-term archiving and public accessibility to all published content.
