DETAILED GUIDELINES PER SECTION
Title
The title of the article should:
- Be written in English.
- Describe the main content of the manuscript clearly and accurately.
- Be informative, concise, and not overly wordy (12–15 words only).
- Not contain mathematical formulas or abbreviations.
Author Name
Author names should:
- Be written as full names without academic degrees, titles, or honorifics.
- Be written in capital letters (e.g., JOHN WILLIAM SMITH).
- For group manuscripts, complete contact details for all authors must be provided.
Affiliation
Each author's name must be accompanied by a complete affiliation address, which includes:
- Institution name and department.
- Complete mailing address and postal code.
- Telephone number.
- Email address of the corresponding author.
Abstract
The abstract must be:
- Written in English.
- Presented in a single paragraph of 150–200 words.
- Structured to include: background, research objectives, methodology, main results, conclusion of the study, and the research contributions to the field of mathematics education.
- Free of references, formulas, and non-standard abbreviations.
Keywords
Authors must provide 3–5 keywords or key phrases that:
- Are written in English.
- Are arranged alphabetically.
- Represent the core concepts, methods, and themes of the manuscript.
- Are not repeated verbatim from the title.
Introduction
The Introduction section should:
- Explain the background and context of the research.
- Identify the research problem and its significance.
- Provide a concise, relevant review of prior literature that directly relates to the study or identifies gaps to be addressed.
- Maintain a balance between the pure and applied aspects of mathematics education.
- End with a clear statement of the research objectives or questions.
- Be presented in paragraph form, approximately 1,000 words in length.
Methods
The Methods section must provide sufficient detail to allow the study to be repeated. It should be presented clearly, enabling readers to replicate the research based on the techniques provided. This section must include the following subsections:
Instrument
Describe the research instruments used (e.g., tests, questionnaires, observation sheets, interview guides). Include validity and reliability information where applicable. Specification of materials and equipment must be included.
Data Collection
Explain the procedures and approaches used to collect data. Include information about participants/subjects, sampling technique, and the data collection timeline.
Data Analysis
Describe the statistical or qualitative methods used to analyze data. Justify the choice of analysis methods in relation to the research design and objectives.
Results and Discussion
This section is the most significant part of the manuscript. Authors should observe the following:
- Well-prepared tables and/or figures are a central feature of this section as they convey major findings to readers.
- Information presented in tables and figures must not be repeated verbatim in the text; instead, the text should focus on interpreting the significance of the principal findings.
- In general, manuscripts should contain three to seven (3–7) figures and/or tables.
- The same data must not be presented in both table and figure format simultaneously.
- Discussion must address the problem formulation, objectives, and research hypotheses stated in the Introduction.
- It is strongly recommended that the discussion focus on explaining why and how the findings occurred, and the extent to which they can be generalized or applied to other relevant problems in mathematics education.
- Comparison with prior studies and theoretical frameworks should be incorporated to strengthen the discussion.
Guidelines for Tables and Figures:
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2).
- Captions for tables appear above the table; captions for figures appear below the figure.
- All tables and figures must be cited in the text before they appear.
- Figures must be of high quality (minimum 300 dpi) in JPEG or PNG format.
Conclusion
The conclusion section must:
- Be drawn strictly from the research findings.
- Address the problem formulation and research objectives stated in the Introduction.
- Be presented in a single paragraph without numerical lists or sub-points.
- Clearly state the contribution of the research to the science of mathematics education.
- Avoid restating results without interpretation; instead, synthesize and reflect on what the findings mean.
Acknowledgment
The Acknowledgement section should:
- Recognize contributors who are not listed as authors and describe their specific contribution.
- Acknowledge all sources of funding for the work, including the name of the research funder and the grant number (if applicable).
- Be concise and written in paragraph form.
References
References must adhere to the following standards:
- Manuscripts must use a standard citation management application (Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero).
- APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition reference style is required.
- All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
- References should be current and relevant; it is recommended that at least 80% of references be from the past 10 years.
- Primary sources (journal articles, books, dissertations) are strongly preferred over secondary sources.
APA Reference Format Examples:
Journal Article:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), Page–Page. https://doi.org/xxxxx
Book:
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Publisher.
